High Fashion and Helicopters

I'm not sure if I need to vacation anywhere other than the West Edmonton Mall - seriously! What do people do when they head to warmer climates to have a holiday - swim, enjoy food and beverage, shop, maybe gamble (I am partial to a bit of bingo - don't judge!) and go to shows, right? Well, this mall has all of that and more! And it has everything from Tiffany's, Lacoste, and Kate Spade to good old Gap and Old Navy. I'm sure there were many parts of the mall that we didn't see, as we simply didn't have enough time. I guess that means I must return someday!

In the late afternoon, we headed to CFB Edmonton to see our nephew, Caleb, who is a flight engineer. He gave us a tour of the 408 Squadron. The 408 Squadron has been around since the Second World War and was heavily involved with the Lancaster aircraft. Dave and I both got to sit in a helicopter, the Bell 412 Griffon. After our tour, we followed Caleb to his place where we enjoyed a social and dined on chilly and rice (Jane's recipe). So good and so filling! It's always enjoyable to listen to Dave and Caleb's conversations, as both of them like to tell it like it is, and both love to laugh. Never a dull moment!

It's not everyday you see a McLaren in your shopping mall!

Are we in Edmonton or the Caribbean?

Huge wave pool!

Ahoy mateys!

Land ho!

Rink with some very talented figure skaters practicing!

Thanks for the tour, Caleb!
